Gender: boy
School:
School #6
School #6 taught boys and girls who were deaf or hard-of-hearing. Since it was the only school for children who were deaf in the Lodz Ghetto, its students ranged in age from 6 to 20 years old, and were born between 1921 and 1935.
School #6 was located at Ulica Limanoskiego 45. The street name was changed to Alexanderhofstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. See
www.lodz-ghetto.com for a map of Ulica Limanoskiego and the rest of the Lodz ghetto.

User Comment:
Ghetto note reads "UMG 9.11.41 HOHENS 25"
While in the Ghetto, Chaim was relocated from his second ghetto address of Matrosen 6 to "HOHENS 25" on November 9th, 1941.
Am I correct in this assumption?

I agree that this is the student who signed the album. In 1927 he would have been 14 years old, the right age to attend school #6. Can you find out what might have happened to him and help us solve the history mystery?

User Comment:
I found most of this information from the "Hospital, Labor, Deportation, and Administrative Records from the Lodz Ghetto". I thought I found Chaim in the Lodz Ghetto Labor Cards, but I could not verify that the first name was correct. I thought I could make out the birthdateas being the same as Chaim's, but I was not definite.
In the labor cards, I found a "Goldminc" with a date of birth that was very whited out, but I could make out a "12" as the date and a "1928" as the year. Not clear enough to be definitive, unfortunately.

I agree that this is the date on which he moved to the Hohensteinstrasse address.
According to the JewishGen Lodz Worker Cards database (http://www.jewishgen.org/databases/holocaust/0147_Lodz_work_cards.html), the card is for Sara Goldminc, b. 1923--who appears to be Chaim's sister, given that they share a common address. Is there anything else on Chaim in the next stages?
