Gender: girl
School:
School #6
School #6 taught boys and girls who were deaf or hard-of-hearing. Since it was the only school for children who were deaf in the Lodz Ghetto, its students ranged in age from 6 to 20 years old, and were born between 1921 and 1935.
School #6 was located at Ulica Limanoskiego 45. The street name was changed to Alexanderhofstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. See
www.lodz-ghetto.com for a map of Ulica Limanoskiego and the rest of the Lodz ghetto.

User Comment:
I believe that this person is the correct match even though she was born in 1919 instead of the age group that was suggested for that school being 1921-1935. Also, she is more than likely the same person as Mirjam Gnatek since they were both born in 1919 and had the address of Zimmer 21 according to the Lodz Ghetto database.
Would you like me to put the other name in the box for Students Married Name? If not, where should I?

You can create another "student's given name" box on stage 1.

Normally I would be inclined to think that this woman is too old to attend school #6, but since that school does have such a broad range of ages of students who attended, I think you have found the woman who signed the album. I also think the two names refer to the same person--go ahead and add the other spelling to another name field in this stage. The other Mirjam also gives us another address (Reitergasse 11 #18) and a ghetto note (March 2, 1943) that you'll want to look for in the next stages.
Something to ponder--when I was checking your research I stumbled across a Chawa Mirel Gnat. This wouldn't be the first case we'd found of a student signing the album with his or her middle name, if Chawa is the person who signed the album. What do you think?
