School #6
School #6 taught boys and girls who were deaf or hard-of-hearing. Since it was the only school for children who were deaf in the Lodz Ghetto, its students ranged in age from 6 to 20 years old, and were born between 1921 and 1935.
School #6 was located at Ulica Limanoskiego 45. The street name was changed to Alexanderhofstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. See
www.lodz-ghetto.com for a map of Ulica Limanoskiego and the rest of the Lodz ghetto.

User Comment:
I searched the database under the exact and fuzzy settings for the last name Celinker, and the only match that I was able to find that was a male and that fit into the appropriate age range was Szmil Szaja. He was born January 29, 1934. He lived at Goldschm 48 10. No further information is listed in his notes..

User Comment:
By searching the database under the exact setting of the last name Celinker, I was able to find 4 other individuals that shared the same address as Szmil. Josef (born December 17, 1902) was the only other male listed at the residence, and I believe that he was Szmil's father. Bajla (born 1905) was the oldest femlae listed at the address, and I believe that she was Szmil's mother. Mindla (born June 26, 1925) and Rywka (born September 17, 1923) were the other children listed at the residence, and I believe that they were Szmil's sisters. I was unable to find any further information listed on the Celinker family.
