Gymnasium and high school for girls
Gymnasium and high school students were typically between 14 and 20 years old. A gymnasium student in September 1941 was likely born between 1921 and 1927.
The gymnasium and high school for girls was located on Otylii. The street name was changed to Ottilienstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. See
www.lodz-ghetto.com for a map of Otylii and the rest of the Lodz ghetto.

User Comment:
I found two names that match the years 1921 and 1927 for B. Zajdenfeld.
The first name is Basia Zajdenfeld b. 22/12/1922 and she lived at Bier 24 and Korn 9 12. She was deported on TR 4/2 on 25/02/1942.
I also found another Basia Zajdenfeld b. 17/09/1925 and she lived at Blech 4 9.
Approver Comment:
I agree that these two women are candidates to have signed the album, since, as they suggest, they would have been the right age to attend Gymnasium in 1941. There's an outside chance that Berta Zajdenfeld (b. 1920, a little older) might also be a candidate.
I am marking this research as "possible" until we know more certainly which signed the album.

User Comment:
Basia b. 1922 was the daughter of Chana Frajndla Zajdenfeld b. 1890 and she was the sibling/cousins of Chana b. 21/01/1918, Abram 14/10/1925, Perla b. 15/11/1929, Luba Frandla 29/12/1924, and Lewi Icchock b. 02/03/1927. They were all deported on TR 4/2 on 25/02/1942. According to the secondary resources the family were sent to Chelmno where they were killed in the gas vans.

I couldn't find anyother information on Basia b. 1925.
Approver Comment:
I'm pretty sure Basia (1925) was related to Majer Zajdenfeld, b. 1924, who is listed as living at Blechgasse 4 #8, close enough to Basia's address (Blechgasse 4 #9) to be a possibility.
I also agree with your reading of the secondary sources to determine that Basia b. 1922 and her family were sent to Chelmno in February 1942; please go ahead and enter that information into the appropriate fields on this stage. Thanks!
