User Comment:

the birthdate for Josek Tiger would put him in the correct age group for school #5.

 SULZF 84 7 is listed as the ghetto adress for both Josek Tiger and Josek Tieger, they also have the same birthdate.

WYM 13.11.41 MATROSEN is listed under ghetto notes for Josek Tiger meaning that there was a change of registration to a new adress MATROSEN on November 13, 1941; Josek Diger has the adress MATROSEN 81 listen and they too have the same birthdate.

other adresses listed for Josek are RUBENS 7 30 for Diger and POMORSKA 33 for Tiger.

Josek Diger was deported on March 15, 1942 with transport number 37.

Excellent work! Go ahead and move on to the next stages.

I agree that you have found the student who signed the album; as you suggest, in 1941 Josek would have been 12 years old, an appropriate age for attending school #5.

Something to watch for: I searched for the last name "Tiger" with the "sounds-like" box checked, and discovered a Josek Tieger and Josek Diger, both with the same birthdate and matching addresses to Josek Tiger. This indicates that all records describe the same person, just with different spellings (perhaps due to mishearing answers during an oral inquiry or transcription issues between Hebrew and Roman characters). What I'd like you to do is to look again in the database, enter these alternate spellings into the name field, and list all of the addresses in the comment box. During the next stages, keep an eye out for all three: Tiger, Tieger, and Diger.

Thanks!

Josek Tiger: Male

Previous Ghetto Address: POMORSKA 33

Later Ghetto Address: SULZF 84 7

Occupation: Stopfer (Tamper) - Person who carefully filled holes before detonation and during railroad construction.

Ghetto Note: WYM 13.11.41 MATROSEN

Josek TIger was born in 1929 which would be the correct age because he was listed in School #5.

Nice work! I agree. Look carefully, though--you'll also find a Josek Diger and Josek Tigier with the same DOB and similar addresses:

Diger=Matrosen 81
Rubens 7 30

Tigier=Sulzf 84 7

I think they're the same person--do you? If so, go ahead and enter all the names into different "given name" fields, then explain why in the comment field. Thanks!

I agree! In 1941 he would have been 12 years old, just the right age to sign the album for school #5.

Look more closely at the database, though. There are three people with very similar names, the same DOB, and components of the same addresses, the one you've listed and these two:

Josek Diger:
Addresses:
Matrosen 81
Rubens 7 30
Note: Ausg. 15.3.42 Tr 37

Josek Tigier:
Address: Sulzf 84 7

I think these guys are the same person. Do you? If so, go ahead and enter all the spellings into separate "given name" fields, then list all the addresses in the comment field and explain why they might be the same person. Interesting case!
