Student Profile: Dawid Szternberg

When I searched for Dawid Szternberg there were four results and 3 of them were born between the years 1926 & 1931. He was Dawid Szternber born 5 Jun 1928 and he lived at Korbgasse 8 flat 32 and Hohensteinerstrasse 32 (no flat number). He has a Change of registration to new address dated 1 Mar 1944 to Kaufman 40. For Dawid's second appearance he has the addresses korbgasse 8 (no flat) and Hohensteiner 32 (no flat) and he has a date 30.8.42. His third appearance he's listed as living at Hirtenweg 17 flat 17 and General-Litzman-Strasse 14 (no flat) and he has a note that I'm not sure what it refers to. ABM 20.9.42 Limanow 9. I'm assuming it's supposed to be a change of address? I did another search and found Dawid listed as Dawid SZTERENBERG with the same birthdate and the addresses Hohensteiner 32 flat 11 and Zimmerstrasse 9.He has a Change of registration to new address dated 24 Jul 1943 to BURSA TROD (I'm not sure if this is an address or if it refers to something else).

Dawid was in the ghetto for a very long time! If he was still in the ghetto, living on Kaufman as late as March 1944, he avoided many of the major deportations. ABM is probably short for "abgemeldet," meaning that was the date on which he left Limanoskiego 9. I'm not sure what Bursa Trod means, though. Thank you for your very thorough look at Dawid's records--I'm very curious to see what you find in the next stages.

I only found three other people living at the same addresses as Dawid.

Zelig born 20 Sep 1887 died 23/03/1942 (his father)

Elka Cipa born 19 May 1889 died 11/06/1942 (his mother)

Chaja Mirjam born 24 Dec 1926 (his sister)

I couldn't find anymore information on Dawid in the next stages., I found a page of testimony on Yad Vashem for a David Shternberg/Szternberg born 1928 to Zelig Asher & Ester Tzipora nee Alburt. It says David died in 1944. This was submitted by Miriam Shternberg, David's sister. I'm pretty sure this is our Dawid but without more evidence I don't think we'll know for sure.
