A search for names that are similar to Motl Minski returns both Motel Minski and Motek Minski, who I believe are the same student. Motel Minski is listed as born on April 12, 1928, and living at Brunnenstrasse 18/1 and Pfeffergasse 16. Motek Minski is listd as born on April 19, 1923, and living at Pfeffergasse 16/3 and Brunnenstrasse 18. These names, dates of birth, and particularly addresses are very close to one another. When we add in the ghetto note information, the similarities become even clearer: Motek is listed as an Altermieter at Pfeffergasse 16/3 and is noted to have moved to Brunnenstrasse on January 11, 1944. Motel's Brunnenstrasse address is listed in full (street then apartment number), while his Pfeffergasse address only has a street number, a convention which almost always means that the person in question lived at the incomplete address prior to moving to the complete address.
Students in school #5 were born between 1926 and 1934. If Motel's date of birth is correct, then Motel/Motek would have been the right age to attend school #5 in 1941; if Motek's date of birth is correct, he would have been a little too old to attend that school.

Good thoughts. I agree with your confusion about the date of birth--perhaps information in a later stage will be able to clear up this question. I'm going to mark this as "possible" until we know more. Best of luck with your research.

I just wanted to add on to the research already done for Motel. He appears also with the name Motel Minska b 12 April 1928 and having lived at Pfeffer 16 flat 3 and with "ALTERMIETER" and having moved on 11.1.44 to Brunnen 18. I added Motel's birthdate.

Thanks for adding to the research! Great work!

Thank you for adding this name to the record. The note "Alter M" is short for "Alter Mieter," German for "old tenant," which we believe means that he lived at this address before and immediately after the creation of the ghetto. Thank you for adding the date of birth to this information.

Okay, for Motel's family I found his mother as DWOJRA NACHA MINSKA born 13/09/1890 and deported on 10/09/1942, his sister as Rywka Minksa/Minski born 3/05/1926, his brothers Abram Mojzesz/Moszel Minksa/Minkski born 9/11/1932 and Lajbus born 16/02/1929 and died 25/04/1943. Is it possible this is the family of Ruth Minsky Sender author of "The Cage"? In her book she writes about her brothers Motele, Laibele, and Moishele. In the book her mother, Nacha, is deported in September of 1942, her brother Laibele dies of Tuberculosis. After their mother is taken away Riva/Ruth is granted Guardianship over her brothers and becomes their mother and in 1944 they move to 18 Berka-Joselewicha Street which used to be a store. I'm almost certain these are the same people Ruth writes about in her book. I wasn't able to find anymore information on Motel. According to Ruth's Shoah Foundation Testimony she and her brothers were sent to Auschwitz in August of 1944.

This is fascinating information about Ruth Minsky Sender! Have you found any additional information in the database that might suggest these are the same people?
Motel was still in the ghetto in January 1944--have you been able to find him in the next stages at all?
