User Comment:
I think FISZEL MAK might be the boy who signed the album because his birthdate puts him in the correct age group for the school #13B.
Approver Comment:
I agree that Fiszel is a possibility; also consider Hirsz Josek, born in 1930. You might want to follow both through. Brave choice to start with a student who only signed his last name.

under ghetto notes is says AUSG 5.10.42 and under source information notes is says that AUSG + date means deportation to Chelmno.
Approver Comment:
There was a long-held belief among scholars that all transports from the Lodz Ghetto went to Chelmno. I do not believe that to be the case. We know now that some transports went to Auschwitz or Buchenwald, among others, and we know that there are survivors of the Lodz Ghetto who were in concentration or labor camps after being in the ghetto, which would not be the case if all were sent to the death camp of Chelmno. Consult the secondary sources and the "Chronicle of the Lodz Ghetto" and see what you can find.
I agree with the date of deportation; how did you determine whether or not the destination was Chelmno? Remember to provide notes about your process in the "comments" box.
