School #23
School #23 was a school for girls and boys in Lodz. Students were between 8 and 20 years old (most were 9-14), meaning that they were born between 1921 and 1933.
School #23 was located at Ulica Jagiellonska 16. The street name was changed to Bertholdstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. You can read more about Ulica Jagiellonska and the rest of the Lodz Ghetto at

I agree that Maria is one possible candidate to have signed the album! She would have been the right age to attend school #23 in 1941, but since the believed age range for this school is so broad, and because students of both genders may have attended the school, it is difficult to say for certain that Maria is the one who signed the album. Please note that she is also listed at Sulzfelderstrasse 3, and there is a ghetto note listed of "25.6.42"--what do you think that means?
Other students you might want to consider:
-Majer Lajzerowicz (b. 1923)
-Mina Lajzerowicz (b. 1932)
-Mindla Lajzerowicz (b. 1921)
-Mirjam Lajzerowicz (b. 1923)
-Mordcha Lajzerowicz (b. 1923)
-Mordka Lajzerowicz (b. 1925)
-Mosze Lajzerowicz (b. 1930)
I'm marking this research as "possible," since Maria could have been the student who signed the album--but please do look through the other possibilities to see if anyone else looks promising.

We also have the date on which she began work: October 22, 1942, which means she survived the first major wave of deportations. Please take a look at the other possible candidates for this name.
