I agree that you have found the most likely person to have signed this name in the album. In 1941 Szmul would have been 14 years old, the right age for school #1. Without more info, this can only be "possible" at best, but I find it promising that the birthdate is 1927. I'll have to see if there are any available records from Buchenwald to fill in details. Fingers crossed.
