School:
Gymnasium and high school for girls
Gymnasium and high school students were typically between 14 and 20 years old. A gymnasium student in September 1941 was likely born between 1921 and 1927.
The gymnasium and high school for girls was located on Otylii. The street name was changed to Ottilienstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. See
www.lodz-ghetto.com for a map of Otylii and the rest of the Lodz ghetto.

User Comment:
I believe that This student is Judyta Borenstein. When I search the name like that I got no results, however Judyta Bornstein returned one result with a girl who would have been the right age to attend this school and was listed as a student.

I agree this is the most likely candidate to have signed this name in the album. As you suggest, in 1941 she would have been 16 years old, the right age to be in Gymnasium. Best of luck in the next stages!

User Comment:
According to JewishGen.org, Judyta, along with her three sibling and parents all lived at Sperling Gasse 13 Flat 9. prior to that they all lived at Zigel 15. This leads me to believe that they were all one family. the years born suggest that the oldest 2 were the parents and Judyta was one of thier four chiuldren.
