Gender: boy
School:
School #1
School #1 was a religious school for boys in Lodz. Most students at School #1 in September 1941 were between 9 and 15 years old, meaning that they were born between 1926 and 1932.
School #1 was located at Goplánska 26. The street name was changed to Buchbinderstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. See
www.lodz-ghetto.com for a map of Goplánska and the rest of the Lodz ghetto.

User Comment:
The other possibility in the database was a boy by the name of Mordechaj Poznanski who was listed as deported.
AUSG MARZ 42 TR 36
So in reality, this person could very well be the one I am searching for.
I tried to search the addresses to see who would have been in closer proximity to school #1 by using their street addresses in the ghetto, but could not find the school's location or their living locations on any maps.

If you do think that Mordechaj is also a possibility, you can go ahead and list his name and date of birth separately from Mordka's here on stage 1. I'm not sure if we can draw conclusions about proximity to schools as a deciding factor for who attended where, although at some point I'd love to do a larger-scale examination of that thought--thank you for bringing it up! Check out this site for the German/Polish street name conversions: http://www.shtetlinks.jewishgen.org/lodz/streets-index1.htm. In the database, many street names are listed with their German name (the name used during wartime occupation), but you'd want to look for a Polish name on a contemporary map.
Excellent work. I am thrilled at your creativity. Looking forward to hearing more!
