Gymnasium and high school for girls
Gymnasium and high school students were typically between 14 and 20 years old. A gymnasium student in September 1941 was likely born between 1921 and 1927.
The gymnasium and high school for girls was located on Otylii. The street name was changed to Ottilienstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. See
www.lodz-ghetto.com for a map of Otylii and the rest of the Lodz ghetto.

User Comment:
We think that Bella Zylberbogen is actually Bela Zylberbogen from the records. Her name could have been easily misspelled in the database because of the difficulty of record keeping at that time. She also went to the Gymnasium and School for girls, meaning Bella was born between 1921-1927. The records show that Bela was born in 1923, which fits right in the middle.
Approver Comment:
An excellent deduction. I agree with your reasoning for her name, and see that she would have been an appropriate age to have attended Gymnasium in 1941. Go ahead and re-enter her name in the name field as "Bela" rather than "Bella."
Also note her addresses: Adolf Hitler Strasse 41 and Matrosen 12-14, #5.
Great work! See you in stage 2. (If you get stuck, look for her last name spelled as "Silberbogen" or some variation in the middle, too.)
