Gymnasium and high school for girls
Gymnasium and high school students were typically between 14 and 20 years old. A gymnasium student in September 1941 was likely born between 1921 and 1927.
The gymnasium and high school for girls was located on Otylii. The street name was changed to Ottilienstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. See
www.lodz-ghetto.com for a map of Otylii and the rest of the Lodz ghetto.

Looks like a match. Also, interestingly, she is listed as being a "hausfrau" (housewife). So, she may have been married.
Her addresses were Ost Strasse 29 and Hohensteiner Strasse 15 Flat 23.
Expert Reviewer Comment:
I agree that Renia Hiller is a very possible candidate, as she was born in 1923. Please add this date to the section above. I used the Lodz Ghetto Database in order to find her name, so when you enter your research source, please look at her files from the Lodz Ghetto Database that is linked to this site! Also please include both her Hohensteiner address as well as the address listed as "OST 29." Great researching, and in the future we would love to see your research process, so leave us a comment!

Please tell us about the Chiler name. How did you find it? Are you sure this is the same person?

User Comment:
Renia had a brother named Noech Icek Hiller who was born in 1927.
Her mother Zelda was born in 1892 and died in the Lodz Ghetto in 13/08/1942
Approver Comment:
Yes, it also looks like her father was Chaskiel Hiller (b. 1893), and he died on 22/07/1942, about three weeks before his wife, in the ghetto. I think you are probably right that Noech Icek was her brother, though I suppose he could conceivably be her husband since she is listed as a hausfrau.

Chaskiel Hiller (b. 1893), lived at the same addresses as Renia. He also appears to have died on 22/07/1942, about three weeks before his wife, in the ghetto.
