I used the Auschwitz-Birenau Prisoners resource and there was only one person with the same last name, Hendeles, however his name was Jakub and was born in 1916 so he could have been his brother, but there is not enough information to tell for sure.
You're right that this is probably not the same person; is there anything else you can find out or anywhere else you can search for Szlama/Szlojme? You can put down information about his possible family members in stage 2.
