I'm very intrigued with the surname Kahan(e) because my grandmother was a Kahan and she had family that lived in Lodz, Poland during the holocaust and she never found out if they survived. I'm sure they would have ended up in the Lodz Ghetto and my grandmother was Sala Miriam Kahan(e) and she was born to the parents of Markus Kahan and Libj Kohan(?). She was the oldest of five children and her family immagrated to Budapest, Hungary in 1937 from Lodz, Poland. She and her younger sisters were sent to Auschwits in 1944. My grandmother was the only person from her family to survive the holocaust.

The personal connection you share is fascinating! Even if Salomon does not turn out to have been related to you, his family, I am sure, finds peace and support through the hard work you've put in to completing his record. Thank you for your amazing industriousness in helping to tell so many stories through this site!
