After liberation Jutta returned to Lodz in search of her family. While there she reunited with Henryk Bergman who had also been deported to Auschwitz. Together they went to Germany where they got married and tired to immigrate to Palestine. The British intercepted them and sent them both to a camp in Cyprus but they eventually reached Palestine in March 1948. They have two children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Henryk serves as the head of the Association of Jews from Lodz in Israel.
