Further to Mgsmallman's research I have more information on the family.
Jakub's father was Jedidjah Zyndel Kirsztajn born 1879 in Krosniewice, Poland, died 1942 in Lodz ghetto. His mother was Chana Kutnowska, born 1 July 1898 in Gostynin, Poland. died 1944 probably Auschwitz.
Jakub's siblings were
Hanoch born 23 Nov 1921 in Lodz, died 12 July 1944 probably Auschwitz
Sara b. 25 June 1923 in Lodz, d.4 April 1943 in Lodz ghetto
Fajga b. 1 May 1925 in Lodz, d. 1945 prob.Auschwitz
Hersch b. March 1926 Lodz, the only survivor is I believe still living in Israel. I met him about 14 years ago. He has two married daughters and grandchildren.
Mina b. 7 Jan 1930 Lodz. d. 1944
Chana Kutnowska's parents were Jacob Kutnowski (1860-1928) and Bajla Brina Kirsztajn (1865-1941). it was one of several intermarriages between the two families.
My wife is a Kutnowski descendant.
