We light candles and add our prayers for the families who lost loved ones in the Shoah, for the survivors of the Shoah and for those who are experiencing a modern day annihilation. But if we do not honor HaShem and respect one another, we will repeat the horror.

I will not only honor the heroic jews who were victums of Nazi genoside by lighting a candle but alsofor the blacks, disabled, and the homosexuals who were also condemned and died. I also wish to include all the terrible killings due to race and ethnic hatred that is still going on today and hope man's inhumanity toward others different from themselves will cease!

I light a candle in remembrance of my gay brothers and sisters who where killed during the Holocaust for simply being themselves. I pray that the world will never again destroy life over menial differences, whether race, religion, sexuality, or gender.

Peace On Earth. Heal The World. God Bless Us All.

My parents were survivors of Bergen Belsen. They were married there and had a son in Bergen Belson afterward as they had nowhere to go when they were liberated. In 1970, I went to Germany & Israel for the Bergen Belsen 25th Anniversay of their liberation with all the survivors that could come, and as a child what I saw was gruesome. Lucky for my parents, they were able to make a nice life in Canada. I grew up as the child of survivors, but my parents gave us a happy home.
