Student Profile: Priwe Szoldajewska

I ran "SZOLDAJEWSKA" through the Lodz Ghetto Inhabitants Database using exact, fuzzy and soundex searches. These were the only results with a name like "Priwe." All three results clearly listed the same individual, as she had the same birthday (12 Apr 1927). This would be an appropriate year of birth for a girl attending School #9B (1925-1931).

According to Prywa Szaldajewsly's sister, Rose, Prywa had a twin sister named Genia. http://www.ushmm.org/media/emu/get?irn=518290&mm_irn=10514&file=primary
Prywa's twin sister's legal name was probably Gitla, since the Lodz Ghetto Inhabitants' list includes a Gitla Szaldajewska with the same birthday living in the same home.

Rose and her twin sisters were separated upon arrival to the camp. She believes they immediately went to the gas chambers.

Excellent research in Rose's oral testimony. I need to mark this as possible, since we don't know she was killed immediately upon arrival, but it is likely that this was the case. Thank you for your great work helping to complete Prywa's record.
