We began looking for an Edek Hajman and then discovered that Edek is a common nickname for Edward. We then went on to find an Edward Hajman who was born in 1932, matching the age of the schoolchildren in School #20. He is also listed as a student. His first address is listed as Richter 9 14 which we believe stands for Richterstrasse. His second address was listed as Hanseaten which we think is Hanseatenstrasse.

Great work! I agree that you have found the person who most likely signed this name in the album, and thank you for your excellent and thorough process note. Best of luck in the next stages.

Mordka Hajman is most likely Edward's father because he was born 1 May 1892, making him 40 years older than Edward. Mordka is listed as a Beamter which is an official. Halina Hajman who was born 19 December 1899, making her 33 years older than Edward. She is listed as a Hausfrau which is a housewife. Both Mordka and Halina have the same address listed as Edward does. Idzislaw Hajman is most likely Edward's brother because he was born 7 March 1923 making him 9 years older than Edward. He also has the same address and is listed as a student.

We also found an Edward Hajman in the Lodz Ghetto Labor Camp Cards who has the same address as the original Edward we found. The only issue is that this Edward was born in 1930 whereas the original Edward we were researching was born in 1932. We feel that there may have been an error when it came to recording his birthdate on the labor camp cards. It is dated on the card that he began working in the camp in 1942. There was also a stamp on the card dated on 12 November 1943 but we aren't sure what this date represents. Edward was listed as an electrical engineer trainee at the Lodz Ghetto but it also says that his learned profession is a student. This most likely means that this was his first job.

Very interesting. How cool that you were able to find his labor card! Thank you for reading the labor card so closely. I wonder if there is information in future stages that will tell us what that 1943 date means--I hope so! Have you found any information in the next stages?
