User Comments:

There was no Zahawa Pachciarek found in the databases, but there was a Golda Pachciarek within the proper age range living in the Lodz Ghetto, according to the Lodz Ghetto Inhabitants database. "Zahav" is Hebrew for "Gold." Thus, the Hebrew name, "Zahawa," would translate as "Golda."  Golda Pachciarek, who was born 25 Feb 1932, was deported to Chelmno on 10 Sep 1942 (as denoted in the same database as "AUSG 10.9.42."

Another student who signed the book, Ber Eliezer Pachciarek, lived at the same address (Sperling 7 Flat 2), and was likely her brother. He was also deported to Chelmnno on 10 Sep 1942, where they both almost certainly died in a gas van.

Excellent work! Thank you for your thorough search for her name and for going through the translation between Hebrew and Yiddish or Polish. Please enter the information about her deportation (and likely, her death) into the appropriate fields on the next stage.
