User Comments:

Because the surname was an exact match, we made the educated guess that Lola could have been a nickname for Chaja Nola, especially because the birth year of 1928 would have placed her at the age to be in School #8B. We looked into Laja Rusinek, also born in 1928, but thought that this name was less likely to generate the nickname Lola, and because she was listed with the occupation of apprentice rather than as a student, as Chaja Nola was.

I still think Laja is a possible candidate, though your reasoning is sound. Personally, I would go with both Chaja Nola and Laja as candidates, and list both names in this stage, then follow both through to see if there is more information in later stages that helps us suss out who was more likely to be Lola, based on data rather than speculation. What do you think?

Please enter "Pfeffer" as "Pfeffergasse," which you'll find in the drop-down list of street names. Thanks!

User Comments:

Note that research validity hinges on Chaja Nola signing the card as Lola. Siblings added because they had the same address, which indicates them at least as possible relatives, but likely siblings because of closeness in birth years.

The second address added is for Laja, as per suggestion by researcher
