User Comments:

I searched the student's fill name in the Lodz Ghetto Inhabitants Database, Vol. 1-4 &5 with the name set to "exact" and the first name set to the "DM Soundex" feature. Of all the names, this was the most similar, and fit the birth year range. Also, I searched for "nickanmes for Miriam, German" on Google and "Marjam" seemed more likely than "Mariem" (which also appeared on the intitial search of the Lodz Ghetto Inhabitants Database, Vol 1-4 &5)

Also in the notes of Marjam's profile: "Rembrandt 6 Ang 29.11.43" -- change of address to Rembrandt 6 on Nov 29, 1943

Thank you for your research! I agree that this is one possible candidate to have signed this name in the album. Good job!
According to the Given Name Databases (http://www.jewishgen.org/databases/GivenNames/search.htm), Marjem, Miriam, Marjam... are different versions of the same name. So, we have more than one candidate to have signed this name in the album. You can add all possible matches along with their birth date and ghetto addresses on this stage. Good luck with your research!

Thank you for adding her change of address date. The date of 1943 tells us that this person was not deported during the Gehsperre action of September 1942, which resulted in the transport of over 15,000 Jews. If she survived to the end of 1942, that would significantly improve the chances of her survival (at least to the ghetto liquidation in 1944). Can you find out more about her family on this stage? Good luck with your research!
