I searched L* Jakubowicz and over 25 search responses were given so I narrowed my search by entering a birth date in as born in 1928. I chose this year because the school that L. Jakubowicz was attending, school #8A, were born between 1928-1934. When that was entered then only two results appeared. I chose Liba Jakubowsk because she was born in the correct time frame to attend that school and her occupation was listed as schuelerine (student). Her ghetto address was listed as ALT MARKT 14 8 KOWAL. The street she lived on was therefore ALT MARKT with the street number 14 and flat/ apt number being 8. Also KOWAL is a town in Poland, according to Google so I entered that in as the city/town.

I agree that this is one possible candidate to have signed this name. There are several other L. Jakubowicz girls (either first or middle initial) born within the time frame for school #8A--what do you think about them? (I also suspect that Liba Jakubowicz signed the album as Luba Jakubowicz, whose name is listed right below L. Jakubowicz in the "student list" on the site. What do you think?)

I agree that Alt-Markt is a street address and Kowal is a town in Poland, but they do not go together--Alt-Markt is in Lodz proper. Please list Alt-Markt (address) and Kowal (city) as separate entries in separate "street address" fields. Thanks!

User Comments:
I found a labor card with the name Liba Jakubowicz that was born in the year 1928, which is the same as the identity I originally found.  On the card it states "Arbeiter Nr: 7410" so I entered that as her worker number.  The card also states "ist in dem Betrieb Nr 27 schneiderei" which indicates something about her being a tailor, and "lehring" means apprentice so it is possible that she was still learning how to be a tailor.  The card also states "Rembrandtstr 16" so I entered Rembrandtstr as the street and 16 as the street number.  On the labor card it says that she is a "schuelerin" (student) and that she is "weiblich" (female), both which match the original identity that I found.

I agree that this is Liba's labor card. Were you able to find any information about the other possible candidates to have signed this name?
