Student Profile: S. Rafal

We found Rafal, S. under the Student List in which she attended School #17B.  We then concluded a search in the

Łódź Ghetto Inhabitants-Supplementary Volume 5.  From looking at the information for the birth dates from School #17B, we concluded that she was between 1926 and 1932.  Our results came up with a girl named Sura Rachel Rafal, born 07/04/1931.  We also know Sura occupied the ghetto located at Tal 11 19.  Within our search results, a comment was listed that said Kamiena 4, which we are unsure as to what that means.

I agree that you have found one possible candidate for the student who signed the album. In 1941, Sura would have been 10 years old, an appropriate age to attend school #17b. The only other candidate I see is Sara Rafalowicz, born in 1928--what do you think about her?

Thanks for entering the addresses correctly! "Kamienna" was a street whose name was changed to Von-Stein-Strasse after Lodz was occupied by German forces, and that street was not incorporated into the ghetto, so I think this might have been Sura's family's address before the establishment of the ghetto.
