The students of School #6 were born between 1921 and 1935 so we looked for results similar to Toba Simel born within these years. Three names that sounded similar and were born between 1921-1935 came up. Two of the names were spelled differently (Tauba Symel and Tauba Symmel) but had the same year of birth listed. One name had the entire date of birth, August 4, 1934, and the other just had 1934 listed. The other name we found was Tauba Symel born on March 21, 1931. Tauba Symel born in 1931 spent time at the Ghetto addresses of HOLZ 19 24 and TARGOWA 38 and had the occupation of a Schuelerin (student). Tauba Symel with only her year of birth listed spent time at the Ghetto address STORCHEN 6 30 (STORCHEN 6 was also listed) and had the occupation: Kind. There was a ghetto note that told us she was deported on March 15, 1942 on transport number 20. Tauba Symmel with her entire DOB listed also spent time at STORCHEN 6 30. We came to the conclusion that the results for Symel and Symmel born in 1934 are the same person.
We assumed that Symel/Symmel Tauba born in 1934 was deported to Chelmno and killed in a gas van since she was deported on March 15, 1942. During March of 1942 there were dailty transports to Chelmno of sizes larger than 24,650 in which prisoners were killed in gas vans.
Through the “Prisoner Lists from Forced Labor Camps” we found someone named Tauba Symel born on March 25, 1926. She entered the Flossenburg Concentration Camp on November 29, 1944 and was prisoner number 59871. Her nationaliy is listed as PJ. When we looked through the Nationality and persecution status codes we learned that she could have been a Pole, a protective custodian political, Jewish, and/or a Jugoslav.
