Josef Turko seems to be the same person as Josek Turkow. They have the same exact birthdate and very simmiliar names that would be easy to mix up.The entry for Josef Turko shows a change of adress 23.4.43 to MUEHL 21. Josek Turkow has two adresses listed and one of them is Muehl 21. This looks like a case in which records where crossed and one life became two acounts.
When looking for family members i found similliar names who lived in the same building but not the same unit as he did. I found multiple people who also lived in Insel but not Insel 19-2 like Josef Turko did.
The first person i found was Jojno Chaskiel Tarko who lived in Insel 26-37 and was born on September 23, 1906 and died on 20.10.42.
Jochet Tarko was born in 1909 and also lived Insel 26-37. She was deported on 18.10.42.
It would make sense to think that this is Josef's Father and Mother but there is not enough evidence to prove it. The birthyears do add up and give creedance to Josef being Jojno's and Jochet's child.
It is also possible that Josef had a little brother named Jakob Majer Tarka who lived in Insel 5-12 and was born in 1939 and died in 1941.
Josef also had more possible family listed at adresses that began with Muehl. This makes it likely that they were family because Josef was listed at Muehl 21-26.
One relative was SZAJA RYWEN Tarko. He was born in 1924 and listed at Muehl 20.
Ruda Tarko was another relative who was born on August 22, 1934] and listed at insel 26-37
A possible older relative of Josef was HERSZ WOLF TARKO who was born on September 16, 1891 and was registered to Muehl 20
Fradjla Tarko seems like a possible wife of Hersz Wolf Tarko as they are registered to the same unit of Muehl and was of a similliar age as she was born on October 21, 1893].
It is pretty likely that Josef Turko was part of the Tarko family. The simmilliar names and common adresses would at least make it possible. If he was not then i could not find any family that wasn't a Tarko.
This all came from the Lodz Ghetto database.
