User Comments:

I found 5 possible matches to the last name Szpigel. I identified them by numbers to the addresses. Abe is (1) and was born 1928, Eleazer is (2) and born 1929, Lajb is (3) and born 1927-05-08, Nachma is (4) and was born 1927-05-23, and Symcha is (5) and was born 1931. Also, Abe was transported to Chelmno and so was Eleazer. Lajb died 19-8-41.

Nice work. Just one note: Lajb couldn't have signed the album, if he died in August 1941 (unless the album, presented on September 23, 1941, was signed earlier in the summer). This is actually one of the first cases we've seen of a candidate who could not have signed the album because he or she passed away before September 1941. Thank you for your incredibly thorough research--we might have to go back in and change some of the numbers in order to appropriately enter the data into our records once we know better who might have signed this name in the album, but for now it is a huge help in matching names with dates and addresses. Thanks! I'm looking forward to seeing what you find in the next stages.
