Doing a quick search in the Hospitalization, Labour, Deportation Records brings up a few Chana Rotenburg's but this one matches her date of birth and matches the address information found under identity. It lists her occupation being a Buroangest. The source notes that she was deported on 10.9.42 but does not list any transport number or location. Looking in the secondary sources show that trains carrying 15,675 people predominantly under 10's, the elderly, and the sick left for Chelmno between September 5th - 12th 1942. It is possible that she was on this transport. It is likely that everyone on these trains died.

While searching for her family I found 6 people that lived at the same addresses as Chana. They are of varying age and they all either died or departed from Lodz on 10.9.42.

One point of interest is Hadasa’s age. She is born within a few months of Chana likely implying that they were not sisters but cousins. Assuming they are not sisters the question then becomes who’s parents and possible siblings are the other relatives? It is likely that Jonas and Sara are the mother and father as they were 52 and 44 respectively when Chana and Hadasa were born. Mirian, Chaim, and Machla are born far enough apart that they could be siblings but it is also possible that this is two branches of the Rotenburg family living together and that one branch has lost its parents.

I am going to continue searching for the siblings and parents to see if I can gain any further information.

Thank you for listing all of Chana's possible relatives. You may add the deportation date listed in the Lodz Ghetto Inhabitants database, and you may cite the secondary sources as your source for the destination of the deportation and her place of death. Thank you for your thorough work and for helping to complete Chana's record.
