User Comments:

Sara Angielczyk was born in 1929 (month and day unknown) making her eligible to be a student at school #5.  Her occupation was listed as student and she was the only person in the database with the last name Angielczyk with a date of birth and occupation that match that of Sonia Angielczyk.  further information was listed for Sara including two adresses

Ghetto Address:  DOLNA 34
Ghetto Address:  HOHENS 21 97

Hohens was short for Hohensteinstrasse (found on http://www.shtetlinks.jewishgen.org/lodz/streets_ghetto.htm)

Dolna- could not find street name in database of street names and common abriviations located at http://www.shtetlinks.jewishgen.org/lodz/streets_ghetto.htm

did find reference to Dolna street in The Chronicle of the Lodz Ghetto by Lucjan Dobroszycki  introduction pg xx (referring to 32 Dolna as a large warehouse which received large shipments of used articles)

on page 340 of The Chronicle of the Lodz Ghetto Dolna street is referred to as Talweg street

Dolna street, also called Baluty street in the street index http://www.shtetlinks.jewishgen.org/lodz/streets-index1.htm

Wow. This is incredibly thorough. Thank you for taking the time to put all this information together--it will help your classmates to have a better sense of the nature of the street names and their various changes. I also agree that Sara is the identity of the woman who signed her name as Sonia. Excellent work--see you in stage 2!
Stage 2: The Ghetto
Father's Name:
Abram Jakob Angielczyk
Lodz Ghetto Inhabitants
Mother's Name:
malka angielczyk
Lodz Ghetto Inhabitants
User Comments:

malka was born in 1895 making her the right age to have a child in 1929 (when sonia/sara was born)

i have also found a male born in 1923 who has the same last name and addresses in the database his name is Szaja Angielczyk

Malka, Sara, and Szaja lived in the same two residences for their time in Lodz:

DOLNA 34

HOHENS 21 97

Abram Angielczyk could be the father (in the right age group to father children in the 1920's but both his addresses are different from that of the other three Angielczyk.

i have found an Abram Angielczyk in the jewishgen.org database with a birthdate of 1891 (a year of from the birthdate listed for him in the lodz database) in the  Siedlce Gubernia / Warszawa Province (records in Fond 221 in Siedlce Archive) it is unlikely but if this is the right person does that mean that is where they were located prior to the holocaust?  the exact link is http://data.jewishgen.org/wconnect/wc.dll?jg~jgsys~jripllat2   the name is about 3/4 down the page

When I search in our Lodz database, I find that Abram Jakob Angielczyk does share an address with Malka, Sara, and Szaja--all resided at Hohensteinerstrasse 21, flat 97. I have reason to believe that this makes him a likely candidate to have been Sara and Szaja's father.
