In this early part of your research process, you've shown both that you understand how to use the database and how to pull out possible relationships between different people in the database--and that you have the patience to do so. Great!

I agree with you that Abram, Chaja, Perla, and Szlamek Akierman all lived at the same ghetto address, and that, based on their ages, the relationships that you suggest are likely to be correct. However, in addition to Abram Aron Akierman, I also found someone named Abram Szymon Akerman (no I) in the database, born in 1933 and thus still in an appropriate age range for school #13B. Given the shape of things in the Lodz ghetto in the period that we're discussing, it is possible that somewhere along the line--in a handwritten document with a bungled curve before the "E" in Akerman, for instance, or in a typo--that Akierman and Akerman were variations on the same last name.

Since we know that Abram Aron and Abram Szymon were not the same person, but we don't know which is the person in question, what I'd like you to do is go back to the database, find Abram Szymon Akerman, and enter his information as well. (You'll also find some possible familial relationships for him in the database!) Please also go back to stage 1 and add in the birth years for each, and list the ghetto addresses in the "comment" field. I've gone ahead and added both names to stage 1.

Also, please be very, very careful to check your spelling throughout. Like I said above, spelling is a bit dicey for any one name, but if we're going off the shared last name "Akierman," please make sure that Perla's name in the "Mother's Name" field is spelled "Akierman" as well, since that's how she appears in the database.

I have to mark this section as invalid until you make the corrections, but as soon as you do I'll be happy to mark it possible--until we figure out whether Akierman or Akerman is the one we're after!
