For this record, I found 2 females who it could be: Romea Holcman, DOB 10/01/23 or Ruchla Laja Holcman, DOB 11/03/21.

According to the Lodz Ghetto Inhabitants, there are three addresses for Ruchla. It appears that she was transferred, but I am having a hard time figuing out the order and the dates that she moved. Is there a way for me to figure this out that I am not seeing?

Nice work! I agree that either of these students might have signed this name in the album, since both would have been the right age to attend Gymnasium in 1941.

As far as the addresses are concerned, here's what we know from the records:
-Ruchla is listed as an Alte Mieter (old/former tenant) at Franzstrasse 28 47. She lived there before the ghetto was established, and once the ghetto was established.
-Two records list the Holzstrasse address with the date of October 29, 1943.
-One record lists "ABG 15.7.44 FRANZ 28."
-I'm not sure where Cranachstrasse 28 fits in, but I'm guessing either it or one of the Franzstrasse 28 addresses lists the wrong street name.

From this information, we can gather a pretty good path of when she moved to which address in the ghetto. What do you think?

(We also know that she was in the ghetto as late as July 1944 based on this information--that means she was alive and in Lodz up to the summer liquidation of the ghetto. Can you find her in any later stages?)

Please enter Romea's addresses: Lipowa 50 (won't be in the drop-down menu) and Schloss 11 1 (should be in the drop-down menu). Please also enter Ruchla's addresses, but note the following across the three records for her:
RUCHLA 1921: Alte Mieter (not an address, but signifies that she lived at Franzstrasse before and after the establishment of the ghetto), Franzstrasse 28 47, and after October 29, 1943, Holzstrasse 30
RUCHLA MARCH 11 1921 #1: Franzstrasse 28, Holzstrasse 30 14, and after July 15, 1944, Franzstrasse 28
RUCHLA MARCH 11 1921 #2: Cranachstrasse 28, Holzstrasse 30 14, and the note of October 29, 1943.
So we can be reasonably certain that Ruchla lived at Franzstrasse 28 47, Holzstrasse 30 14, and Cranachstrasse 28, but in what order and when did she move?

Lodz Ghetto Labor Cards
User Comments:

I was able to find Ruchla's labor card in the Labor Card Database, it has her occupation as "Revidentin." I did a google search and found that "revident" meant a book keeper or accountant, so I am going to assume that maybe this was the job that she had. Something clerical. On the back of the card her learned trade is listed as "burobeamtin" which I believe would be secretarial official.

The labor card tells us quite a lot: we know she worked in the "Schneiderei," the tailor's shop, at Rembrandstrasse 8. She began working on September 4, 1942. I also think you can find her brother, Icek, in the labor cards.
