From my research, I can find no evidence that this child survived following his experience in Auschwitz. As there were no records of the individuals killed at Auschwitz, I cannot confirm Izak's death here. However, he was not even 10 years of age, so it is unlikely he would have been deemed strong enough for a labour force. My unfortunate conclusion is that Izak died either in transport or in the Auschwitz concentration camp.

Your initial comment here was in reference to a young man named "FRENKEL, Isaak" or "FRENKEL, Izak" (b. 22/05/1934). Indeed, he was a less than 10 years old in 1942 (when massive transports of people were deported from the Lodz ghetto to Chelmno where they were killed). In fact, according to the Lodz Ghetto Database, Izak was among those deported (most likely to Chelmno) on March 15, 1942. He would have been almost 8 years old.

HOWEVER, I do not believe that is the same boy who signed the schools album in 1941. I believe that is another young man listed in the Lodz Ghetto Database as "Icek Rywen Frenkiel."

I am again having the same difficulty locating Icek after his transport date. As I have not located him in survivor databases, I am not confident he survived after transport from Lodz.

I looked at the entry for Icek Rywen Frenkiel in the Lodz ghetto database, and based on the date, I think he was deported to Chelmno, because the secondary sources say that there were deportations to Chelmno from September 5-12, 1942.
