There is more than one Jacob Widawski. I am related to a Jacob Widawski who was born in Wieruszow, Poland on May 21, 1921. His parents were Brucha/Ruchla Widawski (nee Jakubowicz) and Schmuel Widawski. He was never in the Lodz ghetto, as stated previously. He was in many concentration camps, including Auschwitz and a sub-camp of Auschwitz called Janinagrube, where he worked in the coal mines. The Auschwitz prisoner number given for him is correct. His oldest brother survived, but none of his other immediate family survived the Holocaust. He survived the war and moved to Wroclaw, Poland with another Holocaust survivor, whom he married after the war. Her name was Mina Widawski (nee Laub). They had two children together, Freda Bronia Widawski (born in 1951) and Adele Abraham (nee Widawski) in 1949. In the 1960s, the 4 of them moved to Australia, where they lived for the rest of their lives. She died in 2004, and he died in 2006. They were married for 58 years. Also, the only spelling I have seen of his name is Jacob, not Jacub or Jakob.
This can be confusing because another Holocaust survivor from Poland named Jacob Widawski married a woman named Celina and moved to Australia in the 1940s. These two people are NOT the same people as the Jacob Widawski, described previously, and Mina Widawski. They are two separate couples with similar names and circumstances.
I have more information on both Jacob Widawski and Mina Widawski if anyone is interested.
