Camilla -- Did you try searching the online Catalogue of Survivor Testimonies from the Visual History Foundation of the USC Shoah archives? I find their search form to be a little tempermental. However, you should be able to find both Dawid and Chaim by searching their names! Also, if you begin a search by scrolling down to the Ghetto category and click on the "Choose Answer" button, then select "L" and scroll down to "Lodz" (at the bottom), then you click on the word "Search" at the top of the screen... you should get a list of 2,014 survivors. To really confirm that this is the same Dawid who signed the album and to fill in the details of his story, let me know when you might be interested in viewing his testimony at the museum, and I will order it for you ahead of time (it takes up to 48 hours for it to load from the VHF servers). FYI -- I think you will be satisfied to find that you were correct... Dawid appears to have survived Auschwitz.
