Saving Lives on the Ground

I am signing postcards and petitions, teaching about Darfur in my classrooms, wearing a green Save Darfur wristband, buying banners for local churches and synagogues, participating in events to raise awareness, and will attend the Million Voices for Darfur Rally in Washington, DC on Sunday, April 3oth.

But I don't see how these actions, multiplied by hundreds of thousands, translate into saving actual lives in Darfur and the refugee camps in Chad?

Short of joining an NGO or a peacekeeping mission there, what else should/could I be doing?

Thank you!
