User Comments:

Czarna lived at multiple addresses: as far as I can tell, she lived at Steinmetz, then Hohenstein, then Lagiewnicka, then moved to Baluter Ring on June 5, 1941. I matched Czarna to her family by finding people who lived at at least one--typically at least two--of the same addresses as Czarna. These family members include her father Icek (b. 1895), grandmother Chaja Sura (b. 1860), and sisters Frajda/Frejda (b. 1932) and Rywka (b. 1929).

Czarna, Rywka, Icek, Chaja, and Frajda/Frejda all moved to Baluter Ring on June 5, 1941, and were then deported on March 28, 1942, during the month of daily deportations to Chelmno.

Chaja Sura's location is a little more involved: At some point in time, she also lived at Halle, two different addresses on Hamburger, and Gnesen. There are contradictions in her profiles involving dates (unless the Chaja Suras are different-- her various birthdates include February 3, March 3, and April 15, all in 1860.) The contradiction is that despite being deported on March 28, 1942, Chaja Sura supposedly moved from Hamburger to Baluter Ring on September 30, 1942. In addition, she supposedly moved from Gnesen to Hamburg on December 20, 1942, but this cannot be possible if she was deported to Chelmno in March.

I agree with your reading of her family's fate, and agree as well that Chaja's trajectory is a little more complicated. Do you think she was not deported in March 1942?
