User Comments:

For Dwora Gelb I found a girl named Dwojra Gelb living at Holz 16 flat 6 and she was born 14 July 1932. With the similar names and being born between the years 1929 and 1934 she seems like the best match.

I also agree that this is the person who most likely signed this name in the album.

User Comments:

There was a number of people living at Holz 16 flat 6. The names were Fajga FLUM GELB born 1896 and died 19/7/44 (had Lowenstadt as an address) Prywa Gelb born 21 Feb 1901, Lajb Gelb born 29 Dec 1900 and died 29/3/42, Jakob/Jakub Gelb born 18 June 1926, Hinda Guta Gelb born 1865 (she lived at a number of different addresses as well as Holz 16 and she died on 27/7/42) and lasty Josef Gelb born 23 Mar 1867.

I went onto Yad Vashem and found a Page of Testimony for Dvora Gelb born 1932 and her parents were Leon and Priva Gelb. The Testimony was submitted by her brother Jack Gelb (possibly Jakub/Jakob) and that she perished in September of 1944 in Auschwitz. The testimonies for Leon state his parents were Joseph and Hinda Gelb. I believe that the testimony is for the same Dwojra Gelb I'm researching and I'm not sure if I should enter in the testimony information here or not.

Is there any information in the testimony linking Dvora to Lodz? If so, please go ahead and enter the information you find there into stage 4. I think that the names of her parents and the names you found in the database are similar enough that his might be a match.

According to the Page of Testimony Dvora/Dwora was born in Lodz, Poland and during the war she was In the Lodz Ghetto. She was sent to Auschwitz in September 1944 and killed upon arrival. I didn't know how to cite my research so I put, " Page of Testimony submitted by her brother Jack Gelb."
