User Comments:

A search for 'R* Etinger' under fuzzy parameters returned 18 results; of those, only Ruchla was born in the year range appropriate for her school and to have signed the album.

I also agree that this is the person who signed this name in the album. Ciechanow is a city close enough to Lodz that it is likely she was deported with her family to Lodz prior to the signing of the album and would have been attending school at the time.

I connected Ruchla to the rest of her family via matching addresses. This includes both a father (Nuta, b. 1894) and a mother (Mariem, b. 1893). There were many children, and while it is possible that they were all her siblings (Mariem would have been 24 when the first was born), it is just as likely that they are cousins of Ruchla as well. These include Rebeka (b. 1917), Cyrel (b. 1918), Mendel (b. 1923), Chaja (b. 1924), Lajzer (b. 1926), and Estera (b. 1934).

In addition, all the family members had the same deportation date: June 1, 1942. This does not correspond with a deportation in the Secondary Sources list, so the fate of this family is, as of now, unclear.

Thank you for adding her family to this stage. Were you able to find out any more information about that deportation date in the next stages?
