User Comments:
I found Irena Gulder in the Lodz Ghetto list by searching for names that sound like GULDER. This Irena was the only possible candidate based on name variants, and her age is close to most of those at the school (born between 1921-1927; Irena was born 1929). Her birthdate is stated on the Lodz ghetto list as 13 July 1928.

I agree that this is the only person who may have signed this name in the album; she is not so much younger than the other gymnasium students as to be outside the realm of possibility. Please add the additional addresses you find: Ziten 22, and, after February 6, 1942, Hamburgerstrasse 21 #12 (that's what the DOM note means).

User Comments:
I have identified Irena's parents and siblings as the only other GULDERs at the same address. They all are moved on the same day as Irena and to the same address, so clearly they are a family. I have assumed that the older couple are the parents and that Sara Bluma is her sister based on age.

According to the Lodz Ghetto list, Irena and her family were moved 06/06/1942 to Flat 12 in the same house on Hamburgerstrasse (number 21).

The family residence was Ziten 22 before the ghetto according to the Lodz Ghetto list.

I agree that these are Irena's parents. Thank you for adding her additional address.

User Comments:
An Irena Gulder born 1928 Lodz is listed as surviving the war and in Frankfurt in Sh'arit ha-pl'atah. Survivor List from the files of World Jewish Congress lists an Irena Gulder born Lodz 18 Jul 1928 at Homberg Hof (Frankfurt) at the end of the war. It seems likely that the birthdate is a mistranscription of Irena's birthdate 13 July 1929.
