User Comment:
For the name in the student profile, "Lejb Abraham," no results would come up from the inhabitants database. So I only type "Lejb" for the first name with the Fuzzy option. For the year of birth, I typed 1930 with +/- 5 years option. I got results for this and there were two that stood out to me. The two were the same name, "Abramowicz, Lajb." From watching the "Names are tricky video," I figured out that Lajb is another spelling for Lejb. And immediately I thought Abramowicz was another spelling for Abraham. So I checked online on Google for different spellings of Abraham. I typed "meaning of Abraham" in google and clicked the first link, which is thinkbabynames.com. There were 21 variant forms of Abraham that the site listed. I then googled Abramowicz and the first link was wikipedia. I used this site just to see what it would say about the name. The name means "son of Abram" and were commonly used by Polish Jews. I do believe this person's name is Lajb Abramowicz. 2 results of this name came up with different birthdays 8 days apart so I put both dates down in the "Birthdate Field." Both were in the same month and year. Both do fall in of being categorized in School #21B and both are listed as student. Both also have different addresses. The one born on December 3rd does have "Alter Mieter" for the address. So I do not know if both results could be the same person or not. But researching so far, I believe this is the right person with the name spelled differently.

I agree with all your conclusions. Thank you for your thorough research on the site and throughout the web! I do not, however, think these are the same student; the "Alter Mieter" note in the Hamburgerstrasse record indicates that this Lajb lived there before and immediately after the creation of the ghetto, which is a different place from Hirtenweg. Please look for both students in the next stages.
