School #20A
School #20 was a school for boys in Lodz. The students in #20a attended classes in the morning. Most students were between 8 and 13 years old, meaning that they were born between 1928 and 1933.
School #20 was located at Ulica Jakuba 10. The street name was changed to Rembrandtstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. You can read more about Ulica Jakuba at

User Comment:
There was also a note AUSG TR 5 which indicated that this individual was deported in transport #5.

I agree you have found the person who most likely signed this name in the album. In 1941 he would have been 11 years old, the right age to attend school #20A. In the future, please use the "research notes" field to explain your research process and how you arrived at your conclusions. You can add the transport number in the next stage. Good luck with your research!

User Comment:
Although Szymon signed his name in the album as "Szymon Dancigier", there is no matching name under "Dancigier" that fits the years between which Szymon was born. Looking under Dancyger, however, there was a match born in 1930 that would be the most logical fit for Szymon.
I have looked through all the individuals from the Lodz Ghetto under the last name "Dancyger" (and even "Dancigier") and believe that I have found three of Szymon's family members. They all share the same address and transport number, and the years of their birth match up relatively well. I could not find much more information on them, however, even after searching through the labor cards for both parents.
I speculate that the Dancyger family was transported in May of 1942, due to the AUSG TR 5 under the notes section. Since there were transports to Chelmno from May 4 to May 15, and a transport to Auschwitz on May 14, I wanted to investigate both. I looked through the Auschwitz records, however, and did not come across any of the Dancygers I was researching. This is why I believe they were deported to Chelmno altogether.
Expert Reviewer Comment:
I think you've found all of Szymon's family. How did you decide that he and his family were deported in May 1942? Since there's no date associate with their convoy, it would be nice if you could explain how you came to this conclusion.

We know that he was deported to the ghetto, but TR 5 does not imply May, just transport #5. Please correct the deportation information.
