User Comment:

The request for S. Radogowski brought up the name "Samson Radogowski" there are no students on the student list who are listed Samson Radogowski. He is the only one. There is a birthday that would put him at 13 years old and his occupation is listed as Scheuler. This leads me to believe the student, and the database have the same person listed.

Both Ghetto Addresses are listed, and I have also established a place of death. I changed the resources, but feel like I am still missing something... Why were the persons I labeled his parents deemed invalid?

Approver Comment:
Odd... I think there may be a glitch in our moderation tool. I am only seeing the student's name, birth date, and the Inselstrasse street address in your entry. It is not showing the Adolf-Hitler-Strasse address (if you didn't include it, please add it in the street address field).

The reason that your submission for Stage 2 (with the father's name) was deemed invalid was that it was showing Volume 5 of the Lodz Ghetto Inhabitants as the source rather than Volumes 1-4. I couldn't approve the submission with the wrong source listed. The actual data you provided was correct. Please try re-submitting, and we'll see if our moderation interface displays it properly on my end. If not, I'll have to bring IT in for a fix.

I agree that this is the student who most likely signed the album. He is the only male S. Radogowski (or any variation on the last name) in the database, and he was born in the right age range for school #12b. Please enter his other address into another address field: Adolf-Hitler-Strasse 309.

Remember to note the date listed in the "notes" field on the next stage. You can use the secondary source materials on that stage to try to determine what might have happened to him on that date. In the next stages, remember to look for his last name under both -ski and -ska, since often gendered endings (-ski is male, -ska is female) were transposed in these records. Good luck!

User Comment:

I deleted the death date; however I do firmly believe that the transportation/deportation date was on April 1st. Why was the research deemed invalid?

Approver Comment:
The research was marked as invalid because of the death date--the system does not allow us to mark only certain parts of a stage invalid, but if there is a questionable piece of information we have to invalidate the whole stage. I agree that you have found the date of deportation, and I agree that the date represents a deportation to Chelmno, based on the secondary source materials.
Approver Comment:
Given the date of deportation, I agree that it is overwhelmingly likely that he was sent to Chelmno and killed there. Next time, please add some notes explaining how you came to your conclusions using the secondary sources. Otherwise, excellent contribution.
