User Comment:

I decided that this was the best candidate because she was the only name presented that was the appropriate age. I also ws not able to find the candidate under the exact names, I had to change both the last name and first name search options to "Fuzzy" in order to find alternate spellings.

The record also had the note: AUSG 22.2.42 at the bottom.

I agree that you have found the student who most likely signed this name in the album.

Note the date in the appropriate field on the next stage, and be sure to check it against the secondary source materials in the community center to confirm the destination of the deportation. Thanks!

I found her family members by searching an 'exact' seacrh of just the last name 'Pinhorn.' Every name that this search turned up had both of Chana's listed addresses. I decided that she had two siblings because they were both listed as students. I decided on her mother because she was listed as "Hausfrau" which translates into house wife. I decided on her father because he was listed being a Haendler' this translates into 'dealer'. Both the man and woman I decided were mother and father were of an appropriate age to be parents.

I decided that she died in the camp Chemlo because she was given a deportation date. Using the provided secondary sources, I figured out that this transport date corresponded to the mass deportations to Chelmo, at which time (February 1942) victims were almost immediately gassed.

Expert Reviewer Comment:
I agree that you have found Hana's family. Due to the deportation date we have to assume that the family was murdered in Chelmno. Thank you for your research!

I agree that this date of deportation corresponds to a deportation to Chelmno. Please add Chelmno as the "camp deported to" as well.
