I am unable to find this birthdate in the database, so I would love to see a comment from you about how you went about your research. Also in the future, please insert the "researched names" and put in any addresses you may have found. Thank you! Keep up your work!

I agree that this change of address is correct for one of the entries for Lejb! Good work.
Have you seen the work user birponcz did on this student recently? It's great that you were able to build on it. You can get in touch with him and see what else you can find out together.
User Comment:
Since the Mauthausen prisoner card for Lejb mentions a father named Jozef Klau, I searched in the Lodz Ghetto Inhabitants database and found that, indeed, there was a Josef Ejsenberg (born December 22, 1894) living at the same addresses as Lejb.
Expert Reviewer Comment:
Nice research! Having been born in 1894, it does put him in an appropriate category to be the father of Lejb. Good job on finding out that they also lived in the same address as well. It does say his occupation was that of a Fabrykant. Maybe you can find out what it means and therefore gather more information!

I agree with your reasoning. Thank you for entering his father's name. I can confirm this as soon as we clear up the name confusion on stage 1.

User Comment:
I believe that this is the same person identified as Lejb Ejzenberg and Lajb Ajzenberg in Stage 1. The birthdates are very similar June 12/13... and the years get progressively earlier by one year in each record encountered. Everything is consistent with a young man who survived in the ghetto until its liquidation in August 1944, where he would have been held unregistered pending transport to Sachsenhausen and then to Mauthausen. There appears to be an inconsistency between the prisoner transport record of November 27, 1944 and the notation in the Mauthausen prisoner card (which claims Lejb arrived at Sachsenhausen on November 20, 1944). Otherwise, there appears to be a convergence of evidence tracing Lejb's journey. I also believe that the Mauthausen prisoner card identifies Lejb's father as Jozef Klau, but I will have to confirm that. It is promising to see that Lejb was still alive in Mauthausen as of February 1945, but I have been unable so far to confirm his survival.
Expert Reviewer Comment:
Great research about all of the camps that Leib might have been transported too! We cannot wait to see information about his survival if you can find any! Thank you so much for helping USHMM.

Thank you for including all of this information. I look forward to seeing what else you find as you work to determine whether Lejb survived.
