User Comment:
We found two males that had the last name Salat and the middle name Rubin, but one has the first name Szmul and the other has the first name Samuel. They both have the same birth date (January 20, 1924) which fits the year range for the school they attended. It seems like they are twins because they don't have the same addresses.

We found a female by the name of Alta Gitla Salat (born on December 11, 1934) who has two different entries on the Inhabitants site and we found that one Alta Gitla as the same address as Samuel and the other Alta Gitla has the same address as Szmul. However, she was deported to Chelmno on September 10, 1942, where everyone was killed in gas vans. She could be the younger sister of Szmul and Samuel.

We found an older male who was born May 22, 1893 by the name Jankiel Salat. He has the same addresses as Samuel and one of Alta Gitla's entries, but not Szmul. This could be the father.

We also found an older female who is one year younger than the father named Maria Salat. She could be the mother. She was born April 20, 1894 and has the same addresses as Samuel, Jankiel, and one of Alta Gitla's entries, but not Szmul.

We have a reason to believe that Maria survived based on a record of a Maria Salit in the Survivors Database. Her place during the war was Bydgoszcz. Her record number was 54604. We believe she survived and immigrated to the United States where she died in 1981 in New York under the name Mary Salit.

Samuel and Szmul are two names for the same person, in Polish and Yiddish. I think rather than being twins, these records point to the same person. What do you think?
