Gymnasium and high school for girls
Gymnasium and high school students were typically between 14 and 20 years old. A gymnasium student in September 1941 was likely born between 1921 and 1927.
The gymnasium and high school for girls was located on Otylii. The street name was changed to Ottilienstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. See
www.lodz-ghetto.com for a map of Otylii and the rest of the Lodz ghetto.

User Comment:
Although I could not find anyone with the name R. Ehrlich, I did find several girls with first names
starting with R and the last name Erlich. Rachela Erlich was 15 years old in 1941, and her listed
occupation was schuelerin (student). Her ghetto address was Fisch 3 31. It is possible that she
is the individual who signed the album R. Ehrlich.
Approver Comment:
I don't think anyone was named "R. Ehrlich," but many students signed their first initial and their last name. I agree that Rachela is a likely candidate, since she would have been the right age in 1941 to have attended gymnasium. See you in stage 2!
