School #23 was a school for girls and boys in Lodz. Students were between 8 and 20 years old (most were 9-14), meaning that they were born between 1921 and 1933.
School #23 was located at Ulica Jagiellonska 16. The street name was changed to Bertholdstrasse when German occupation began in 1939. You can read more about Ulica Jagiellonska and the rest of the Lodz Ghetto at

User Comment:
We found a student by the name Abram Huberman who's a male. Huberman is very close to Haberman in spelling and there could've written his "u" by closing the top of the letter. His age matches the year range for his school. And we found two entries with his name. In one of the entries there is a date (14.10.41) and after it it says "Kolonj Berth." There's one common address between the two addresses. The second address has the same street but one has a different building from the first address and the second has a different apartment number from the first address.

I agree you have found one possible candidate to have signed this name in the album. Did you also consider people whose middle names begin with A? Please enter the other Inselstrasse address into the appropriate field on this stage (leave the apartment field blank) and remember to look for other possible candidates as you resubmit your research.

User Comment:
We found a female who was born in 1906 and who had the same first address as Abram's two entries by the name Frajda Rojza Huberman. However her second address matches only one of Abram's entries.
We also found a male by the name Icek Lajb Huberman who was born in 1928. However, there are two entries for this person, one spelled "Icek" and one spelled "Icchok." One entry matches both addresses of one of Abram's entries and the other entry for Icek matches both addresses of the second entry for Abram. It seems as though Icek is Abram's older brother.
We found another male born in 1929 who lived in the same first address as Abram. However, the second address in Manes entry only matched one of Abram's entries. He appears to be Abram's second older brother.
Approver Comment:
Please add both Icek and Icchok as spellings of his brother's name (in separate "Sibling's Name") fields--I agree they're the same person, and want to have a record of both spellings for future research. Have you been able to find any information on Abram in the later stages?
