User Comment:

I believe Ch. Ajzenkopf is Chawa Eisenkopf born 04/08/1933 and she lived at Hohens 66 and Hohens 66 flat 1. She was deported on September 10, 1942 (10/09/1942). She would have been the right age to attend School #7 A.

I agree that you have found the likeliest candidate to have signed the album as Ch. Ajzenkopf in school #7a. Don't forget to check all of the possible variations of both the first and last name (Hawa, Ajzenkopf, Aizenkopf, Ejzenkopf) in the next stages. Good work!

I found Jakob Eisenkopf born 08/12/1910 and moved on 28/11/41 and Mojzesz born 13/01/1937 and deported on 10/09/1942 all living at the same address as Chawa. I also found Jakob under the last name of Ajzenkopf and living at Hohen 66 flat 2.

I did a search and also found Gilta Rywka Ajzenkopf born 07/03/1913 living at Hohen 66 flat 2 as well as Hohen 66. She also appears as Gilta Ryfka Grafsztajn. I'm guessing that Grafsztajn may have been her maiden name because I also found JERMIAS GRAFSZTAJN born 05/02/1885 and deported on February 23, 1942 on TR 2/2. Also I found SURA GRAFSZTAJN born 10/01/1887 and deported on the same day as Jermias. I'm thinking that Jermias and Sura were the parents of Gilta and Chawa's maternal grandparents.

According to the secondary sources Chawa and her younger brother would have been deported to Chelmno and killed in the gas vans. As for their father Jakob I found that he was deported to Dachau on 1 September 1944 from Auschwitz and he died on 27 February 1945 and his name is spelled as Jankiel Aisenkopf and he lived at Hohensteiner 66.

Expert Reviewer Comment:
Great sleuthing! You seem to have uncovered a big family tree in your research. I also believe that Grafsztajn is perhaps the maiden name of Chawa's mother. However, I wonder why Jakob and Gilta lived in Hohens 66, flat 2, while Chawa lived in Hohens 66, flat 1.
Approver Comment:
I suspect one of those flat numbers is a typo. You can go ahead and add Jankiel Aisenkopf to the list of "father's name" fields, citing your source appropriately.

I agree that by reading the secondary sources in conjunction with the database, we can determine that Chawa and Mojzesz were deported as part of the Gehsperre Aktion, which targeted the youngest and oldest inhabitants of the ghetto for deportation to Chelmno. Thank you for helping to complete Chawa's record.
